Casadont Plays Lead Role in BlueStar
Jon M. Casadont started practicing just six years before joining BlueStar Energy Solutions as the company's first in-house lawyer.
Casadont, who became chief legal officer in 2009, ensures that BlueStar Energy complies with all government regulations. The company operates within Illinois' deregulated energy industry, allowing businesses and residents to choose their electricity suppliers.
Since starting as general counsel in 2004, Casadont helped BlueStar Energy morph into one of the largest privately held companies in Illinois. The company, which sells electricity to commercial, industrial and residential users and also provides energy-efficiency solutions to those users, employs nearly 190 people around the world and earns nearly $250 million in revenues.
