BlueStar Energy Granted Electric Generation Supplier License in additional Pennsylvania Service Territories

The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission granted BlueStar Energy Services, Inc., d/b/a BlueStar Energy Solutions, an Electric Generation Supplier ("EGS") License on January 28, 2010 allowing BlueStar Energy to provide electricity supply service to residential, small business, commercial and industrial customers in all utility service territories. These electric service territories include Allegheny (West Penn), Met-Ed, PECO and Penelec utility service territories beginning January 1, 2011. BlueStar will be ready to serve customers in these territories, which include most of Pennsylvania including the greater Philadelphia area, once electric rate caps expire December 31, 2010. Rate caps have kept electricity prices artificially low, preventing competitors such as BlueStar Energy from entering the market. Pennsylvania consumers can expect increased market competition, and with it, greater choice and better value once electric rate caps expire.
