BlueStar Energy Services, Inc. Granted Electric Generation Supplier License in PPL Service Territory
The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission granted BlueStar Energy Services, Inc. an Electric Generation Supplier ("EGS") License November 6, 2009 allowing BlueStar to provide electric service to large commercial and industrial customers in the PPL service territory beginning January 1, 2010. BlueStar will be ready to serve Pennsylvania customers in the PPL territory, which includes most of central Pennsylvania, once electric rate caps expire in 2010. Rate caps have kept electricity prices artificially low, preventing competitors such as BlueStar from entering the market. Pennsylvania consumers can expect increased market competition, and with it, greater choices and better values once these electric rate caps expire.
