BlueStar Energy Services, Inc. Granted Electric Generation Supplier License in PPL Service Territory
The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission granted BlueStar Energy Services, Inc. an Electric Generation Supplier (“EGS”) License November 6, 2009 allowing BlueStar to provide electric service to large commercial and industrial customers in the PPL service territory beginning January 1, 2010. BlueStar will be ready to serve Pennsylvania customers in the PPL territory, which includes most of central Pennsylvania, once electric rate caps expire in 2010. Rate caps have kept electricity prices artificially low, preventing competitors such as BlueStar from entering the market. Pennsylvania consumers can expect increased market competition, and with it, greater choices and better values once these electric rate caps expire.

BlueStar closes a new secured credit facility
BlueStar Energy Services, Inc. (“BlueStar”), a retail energy supplier providing electricity and related services to industrial, commercial and residential customers in Illinois, Maryland and Washington, D.C., today announced that it has closed a new secured credit facility. The new financing consists of a senior secured revolving line provided by RBS Citizens, NA (“RBS”) and a subordinated mezzanine loan provided by RBC Capital Partners, a division of the Royal Bank of Canada (“RBC”). While specific terms were not disclosed, BlueStar's founders and shareholders will retain 100% ownership of the company. Proceeds of the credit facility will be used to meet collateral requirements with wholesale counterparties and to fund BlueStar's continued growth. ... View Release
